Secrets of a perfect smoothie bowl

Trend or not – smoothie bowls are super delicious and, in the best case, provide us with a large portion of vitamins and nutrients. But it can quickly get frustrating if the consistency of the bowl is not that thick or the taste leaves something to be desired. That’s why we want to give you a few tips and tricks to make your daily smoothie bowl perfect. In addition to high-quality ingredients, we recommend a high-performance mixer. Because this is strong enough to mix frozen fruits with a little liquid to an almost icy mass.

10 tips to make the perfect smoothie bowl

  1. Use frozen fruit that has been cut into small pieces beforehand.
  2. Avoid using ice cubes, as they melt, making the consistency watery and the taste bland.
  3. Only add a little liquid at the beginning, you can gradually add more during the mixing process, but not take it away.
  4. Use a spoonful of nut butter, an avocado or yogurt to make the mixture creamier.
  5. Know the best fruits to create the perfect result. We recommend bananas or mango for the basic sweetness. For taste and color, we recommend pineapple, blueberries, peach and cherries. If a thick consistency is desired, watery fruits such as melons, kiwis, oranges and grapes should be avoided.
  6. Add nutrient-rich ingredients like flaxseed, protein powder, spirulina, matcha, spinach or kale – be careful with the dosage so that the taste doesn’t get too intense.
  7. Mix until you see the perfect “swirl”. When mixing, start with a low to medium setting and slowly turn up. You will have to stop several times to press the frozen fruit down with the pounder. Be patient, the perfect smoothie bowl often takes longer than expected!
  8. If you want to compare your smoothie bowl with an ice cream, you can put the mixed mixture in the freezer for about 30 minutes and then enjoy it ice-cold.
  9. The eye eats too! Think in advance whether the selected ingredients go together and which color will come out.
  10. Topping is half the battle! Your smoothie bowl deserves a colorful and nutritious topping! From granola to berries to nut butters and seeds – the topping should be fun and give the smoothie bowl the final kick.
