Make your own baby food in a blender

Make your own baby food in a blender

If we are honest, we know very well that baby food is not rocket science. The ingredients are simple, the combinations are easy and the preparation is quick. A wonderful tool for this is the high-performance blender from bianco di puro. In a matter of seconds, it transforms solid foods into a creamy consistency. In addition, the matching masher for your bianco di puro blender can display the temperature and thus help to temper the vegan baby food correctly. Perfect for making the baby's favorite creations just right and for tailoring them to the child individually.
Make your own first vegan baby food Whether it's puree or finger food, the baby should be introduced to the world of food slowly and step by step. On the one hand, so as not to overwhelm the sensitive tummy and, on the other hand, so that in the event of allergic reactions, you can react quickly or better understand them. If you decide to use puree for the first solid food, then start with just one ingredient. Sweet potatoes are a wonderful choice, for example. To do this, steam the sweet potatoes over low heat and then mix them in a blender to make a creamy puree. Other foods that are great for starting out:

  • pumpkin
  • potatoes
  • Carrots
  • zucchini
  • parsnip
  • avocado
  • Apple
  • banana

Foods that contain fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) should be mixed with half a teaspoon of oil or nut butter. Rapeseed, linseed or olive oil and almond butter are suitable here. The almond butter is also very easy to make yourself in the bianco di puro high-performance blender.
If the baby tolerates the food well, a new one can be added weekly with
can be added and also mixed together, such as a carrot-potato mash with rapeseed oil.

Vegan baby food from the 8th month The first month of supplementary feeding went well? Then you can be more experimental and introduce new types of vegetables and fruit from the eighth month at the earliest. The following are suitable for this:

  • cauliflower
  • broccoli
  • fennel
  • Kohlrabi
  • green leafy vegetables
  • Pears
  • Apricots
  • Berry
  • Dried fruits

Because fruits are digested faster than vegetables, we recommend filling the first porridge of the day with fruits.

Vegan baby food from 9 months

After the second month of complementary feeding, i.e. from the 9th month at the earliest, different types of grain can be introduced. It is important to choose the first varieties without gluten. Rice or millet flakes are ideal. Gluten-free oat flakes are also an ideal choice because they are rich in iron and easy to digest. We recommend mixing oat flakes with a source of vitamin C to increase iron absorption. In general, there are nutrients that are very important for vegan complementary feeding:

  • iron
  • zinc
  • iodine
  • calcium
  • Vitamin D
  • Omega-3 fatty acids
  • Vitamins B2 and B12

If the baby continues to tolerate the supplementary food well, you can gradually
Legumes, seeds and kernels can be stored.
We have created a balanced and vegan baby food recipe for you that is super easy to make in the bianco di puro high-performance blender. However, this recipe should only be fed to the baby from the 9th month onwards:

  • 1 boiled, medium-sized potato
  • 1 steamed carrot
  • ⅓ raw zucchini
  • 2 tbsp yeast flakes
  • 1 tsp rapeseed oil
  • energized water
  • if necessary a pinch of salt

In the end, it is about listening to your intuition and that of the child.
If you have any uncertainties or questions about your child's vegan diet, inform your pediatrician and discuss basic points such as nutrients.
